Exciting Kids Summer Camp Opportunity at the Langley Centennial Museum

The Langley Centennial Museum would like to alert parents to a special opportunity this summer – History Heroes Camp.

During this week-long afternoon camp, kids between the ages of 8-12 years will have the opportunity to create and curate their own small-scale exhibition that will be showcased in the Museum’s permanent History Gallery.  The exhibition will be created using artifacts borrowed from the Museum’s extensive teaching collection.  Artifacts ranging from tinker toys to teddy bears will be available to kids to help them create a display that holds meaning and interest to them as well as the local public.  Museum instructors Kirsten Brokop and Vanessa Kroeker will instruct and encourage the group while curator Jasmine Moore will be available to guide the process.  The last day will include a small opening where students will be able to show off their work to friends and family.

This tight-knit group of campers will have this amazing opportunity starting after the long weekend from August 4-7th.  Camp runs from 1:00-4:00pm.  Call the Museum at 604.532.3536 for more details.
